Academic Excellence and Career Preparation. Mount Mercy combines a strong liberal arts foundation with outstanding professional career preparation. The dedicated faculty members inspire students to lead and serve, made easier with small class sizes and a student-teacher ratio of 13:1. Our professors are leaders in their field and make teaching a priority. Mount Mercy’s academic programs include ample opportunities for internships, service projects, and other real-world learning experiences with international corporations such as General Mills, Aegon USA, Quaker Oats, and Rockwell Collins. Mount Mercy has a long track record of graduating students who make a difference in their careers. Within six months of graduation, 96 percent of Mount Mercy students are employed or in graduate school. Athletics & Clubs Mount Mercy’s competitive athletic teams and dedicated coaches give student-athletes the ability to succeed in the classroom and on the field. Our intercollegiate teams, the Mount Mercy Mustangs, compete in the NAIA Division II as members of the Midwest Collegiate Conference. The Mustangs own more than 35 conference championships and numerous NAIA National tournament appearances. If you enjoy competition in a less structured environment, try intramural sports like basketball, volleyball, golf, or softball. Students also have more than 30 campus clubs and organizations to choose from, ranging from dance to biology. Service in the Community Volunteering is second nature to Mount Mercy students. We are committed to serving the community – and our students and graduates are known for their enduring dedication to bettering society. A variety of unique service learning courses are offered that involve volunteer opportunities, providing students with a strong foundation of leadership that will last long after graduation. Degrees: Mount Mercy grants degrees in 35 programs of study leading to a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Applied Arts, Bachelor of Science and Nursing, Bachelor of Applied Sciences. Total Cost: Tuition: $22,100 Room and board: $6,980 Books, incidentals and other: $1,000 Financial Assistance: One hundred percent of freshmen students receive financial assistance, and all are eligible for institutional scholarships and grants that do not require repayment. Work-study opportunities, state and federal grants, and low-interest loans are also widely available. Our tuition is lower than that of most private colleges in the region, and when you calculate the scholarships we award, the cost of attending Mount Mercy can be lower than the cost of many public colleges.
