Graceland University was founded in 1895 and enjoys a rich history and traditions handed down through the generations. Our course offerings, however, are cutting-edge and will prepare you to land any job or graduate school. More than 50 academic programs are available, including Nursing, Education, Business, Athletic Training, Visual Arts and the Sciences. We boast new visual arts and science and technology buildings, a best-in-the-Midwest football/soccer/track complex and a 750-seat performing arts center. 

The CAP (Career, Academic, and Personal Counseling) Center and Registrar’s Office will quickly assist you in completing a degree audit and graduation plan. “We know it’s important to you to finish college as quickly and successfully as possible, and our academic advisors do all they can to help you make that happen,” says Arlyn.

All college students – traditional, non-traditional, transfer, part-time and full-time – must ask the question, ‘Can I afford a private university education?’ Arlyn points out that “It is amazing how much financial aid is available for transfer students … often much more than they realize. I enjoy helping transfer students learn what is available and how to obtain it.” Graceland offers generous Transfer Academic Scholarships and performance grants in fine arts and athletics. Funds are also available if you are a Phi Theta Kappa member. If you have a 3.75 GPA and are accepted into the Graceland Honors Program, you receive an additional scholarship. We also have unique grant opportunities that every student should investigate.        

“Iowa transfer students often don’t realize they may also qualify for the $4,000-per-year Iowa Tuition Grant,” says Arlyn. “That is a significant amount of money and I make sure Iowa students are aware of it.”
