Take it to the next degree at MSOE

Blake Manz transferred to Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) after receiving his associate degree in IT networking from Lakeshore Technical College. “I came to MSOE because of the name recognition and the transfer scholarship,” said Manz. “My major was originally going to be business management with a minor in technical writing, however after a few marketing classes with some amazing teachers, I decided to focus on marketing. Now I am finishing my bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in marketing.”

If you’ve finished your two-year degree and want to continue on for a bachelor’s degree, check out MSOE. You’ll find it is a perfect fit for transfer students. MSOE respects the time and effort you’ve put into your education and has a 2+2 transfer agreement with many technical colleges to make for an efficient transfer, and scholarships are available to those who qualify. In addition, MSOE provides individualized transcript evaluations, maximizing the number of credits that transfer.

Apply your associate degree toward a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology, business management, mechanical engineering technology or technical communication. At MSOE you can transfer directly into your program of study and students also have the opportunity to start classes at four different times during the year. Use MSOE’s strong national reputation and highly ranked programs to your advantage, and be confident that the university’s 98% placement rate will advance you to a challenging, well-paying job upon graduation.

MSOE also has a strong relationship with local industry. For students, this equates into ideas for design projects and industry internships or summer jobs. The university prepares graduates for successful immediate entry into industry, as well as for graduate school.

A bachelor’s degree in business management from MSOE will prepare you to efficiently manage in a technical environment, and supplement your technical skills with related management skills. The degree builds on the MSOE reputation of providing world-class education, and emphasizes the integration of technology into all business management functions.

MSOE places a strong emphasis on design, applications and hands-on laboratory experimentation. The laboratory is the place to grasp classroom theory. Electrical engineering technology majors will design, build and debug electronic systems that function just like the specifications. Mechanical engineering technology majors work with manufacturing, machinery and people, and devise ways to adapt machinery, such as redevelop a supply line for a new product.

The technical communication program is an excellent opportunity for those with technical aptitude whose career goals are in technical communication or writing such as human resource management; Web design and usability testing; software documentation; project management; information technology and more.

Manz is involved. He has had a number of jobs on campus, and also participates in the MSOE Business Leaders Association. He said, “I also love the placement of the campus. There are plenty of places around to fulfill the college experience. Coming from a small town, there was much more to do in the area.”
