Normal, Ill. - Founded in 1979, Lincoln College – Normal is a branch Lincoln College. Established as Lincoln University in 1865, we are the only college or university named after U.S. President Abraham Lincoln during his lifetime. LC-N is fully accredited by the Higher Education Commission of the North Central Association.

Small by design, Lincoln College-Normal (LC-N) is a student-oriented, liberal arts college, offering baccalaureate degrees, as well as certificate programs. We are a perfect fit for transfer students seeking strong academic programs, outstanding faculty, and an  inspired learning environment.

For 30 years, teaching has been a top priority at LC-N. Our student-to-faculty ratio of 14:1 means students interact with faculty on a daily basis.  Our faculty work closely with LC-N students to arrange for off-campus study and internships to enrich your academic experience. 

This year is especially exciting as we mark our 30th anniversary. We also recently celebrated the grand opening of the new Center for Adult Learners and the continued growth of A.B.E program – our accelerated bachelor’s degree completion program.

Since many of our students work and raise families, LC-N provides both full-time and part-time study options as well as day, evening, hybrid and online classes. In addition, students may be awarded credit for work and life experience.

Forget about dorms! Students who live on campus enjoy the amenities of an apartment, but with the convenience of living on campus. Each furnished unit features four bedrooms, 2 baths, a full kitchen, and washer/dryer unit. All utilities - A/C, wireless internet, telephone, and cable TV – are included.

GOING TO COLLEGE IN A GREAT COLLEGE TOWN!

LC-N is located in the twin cities of Bloomington and Normal in picturesque Central Illinois. Also home to three other colleges, this diverse community is friendly and student-oriented.

Residents enjoy a wide variety of theatres, museums, restaurants, festivals, concerts, college and professional sports teams, as well as several lively shopping districts. If you prefer to spend your time outdoors, you can choose between several nearby parks and the 24-mile Constitution Trail, which runs past our campus. It’s perfect for a game of football, cycling, or a leisurely afternoon stroll. With so much to do nearby, we think it's just about impossible to feel bored, but should you ever need to escape for a weekend, Chicago, St. Louis, and Indianapolis are each only 2 1/2- 3 hour drive.

CAMPUS LIFE:

Transfer students will find lots of ways to get involved with the campus community. Whether it's a movie night or a karaoke contests or maybe the honor society, you will have many opportunities to make friends and learn leadership skills through student organizations and clubs.

LC-N students also enjoy many other resources thanks to our close partnership with Illinois State University including access to the Milner Library, Health Services, Career Services, and Recreation Services.

ADMISSION:

LC-N is committed to making the transition for transfer students as smooth as possible. We offer many scholarships for transfer students including merit awards on the basis of all previous college level work. In fact, more than 90% of the students at Lincoln College receive some form of financial aid.

Any student of good standing who has maintained at least a 2.0 in their college classes is eligible to transfer to LC-N. Transfer students are accepted for both spring and fall semesters.
