As a comprehensive liberal arts Christian university in the Lutheran tradition, located on 40 tree-lined acres in suburban River Forest just 10 miles west of downtown Chicago, CUC offers students a wealth of opportunities and experiences.

The university offers more than 60 areas of study as well as doctorate and certification options. Classes are taught by professors who are passionate about teaching and student success. More than 5,000 students are enrolled in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral study through the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business, the College of Education, and the College of Graduate and Innovative Programs.

Concordia University Chicago graduates make a difference in the world and lives of others. Distinctive academic programs are designed to meet students’ diverse interests as well as the changing needs of the world in which we live, serve and work.

In the arts and sciences, CUC recently established one of the nation’s first bachelor of science programs in applied microscopy—a highly in-demand field of science—in partnership with the international renowned College of Microscopy.

Concordia-Chicago’s expanded College of Business provides an array of undergraduate business programs—as well as MBA options and professional certificates online or in traditional classroom instruction—that prepare confident, ethical leaders for today’s business world.

Recognized as a leader in teacher education, Concordia University Chicago maintains a long history, exceptional reputation and demonstrated record of successfully preparing educators and school leaders.

The Golden Apple Foundation has recognized a number of university alumni with its prestigious Golden Apple Award for outstanding teaching. Concordia-Chicago’s Early Childhood Center provides a state-of-the-art learning laboratory for educators in training, while graduate programs in education and leadership are among the largest of their kind in the nation.

CUC’s close proximity to Chicago allows students extensive options for enhancing their college educations—through world-class learning, service and internship opportunities in business, education, health care and many more fields.

Concordia-Chicago students benefit from access to research opportunities, professional conferences and networking throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. Within six months of graduation, more than 92 percent of the university’s graduates are in full-time positions or accepted at prestigious graduate schools to pursue further study in their fields.

Affiliated with The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod, Concordia University Chicago emphasizes Christ-centered, faith-based service leadership. Students engage in volunteerism, learning and life experience through Academic Service Learning projects, mission trips, campus organization outreach and more.

From delivering sack lunches to the homeless in Chicago to rebuilding communities in Guatemala, Concordia University Chicago students are found leading and serving locally, nationally and internationally.
